The Motion Sensor Outdoor Wall Sconce is an L-shaped aluminium fixture roughly the size of a letterbox, with a passive-infrared sensor set into its face and an integrated LED hidden inside the upper arm so the light washes down the wall rather than into your eyes. It comes on when someone approaches and switches itself off again, which makes it a fixture for the places you walk past rather than the places you sit — a side door, a garage bay, a path along the house, a set of steps. Finished in matte black or white. It is not a plug-in or solar fixture: it hardwires to a mains supply, so plan on a junction box behind the mounting point.
